Headmaster, Ms Elizabeth Stone recently spoke to parents about adolescent mental health and wellbeing, informed by extensive research from Dr Jack Andrews, a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford in Developmental Science and Mental Health.
In her latest video, she commented: "The very best things we do at Winchester are not standalone programmes and campaigns or reactive, therapeutic responses. The things we do to support pupil wellbeing are woven into the fabric of the school. Developing true autonomy, competence and relatedness is what will set children up to withstand the knocks and bruises of daily life and help them come through the inevitable difficult and stressful periods a bit stronger, a bit wiser, more resilient, more confident and ultimately, happier."
